Sam Weinberg

Sam Weinberg is a saxophonist and improviser living in New York City.

Over the last several years, he has almost-exclusively produced material for solo saxophone (Academy, My Druthers, Live at the Oche), and trio music (Plays Quarter Notes and Other Notes (with Henry Fraser and Jason Nazary) and Implicatures (Astral Spirits, 2023) with Tom Rainey and Chris Lightcap.) His interests in both areas are a development of a distinct intervallic lexicon which is mutable and structurally concrete. Other projects include groups with the likes of Thomas Buckner, Kieran Daly, and Nate Wooley. He is the 2024 Resident Artist at SISTERS in Brooklyn, presenting twelve concerts there over the course of 2024.
